Anyone logging into Sanctuary after the Lord of Hatred expansion and Patch 3.0.1 can tell the game's been pulled apart and rebuilt in a few key places. It's not just balance tuning. Whole class flows feel different now, and that starts with loot and progression. Even stuff you'd usually ignore has value again, which makes checking Diablo 4 Items trends and drop quality a lot more relevant than before. The biggest shock, though, is how dramatically Necromancer and Druid have changed once you get a few hours into the new setup.

If you main Necro, this patch probably feels like the class fantasy finally caught up with the idea. Minions aren't some side mechanic anymore. They're baked into the tree in a way that actually matters. Skeletal warriors rise on their own around corpses, while skeletal mages now cost Essence, so there's a clearer rhythm to how you build and spend. With the right gear, people are pushing absurd minion counts, and yes, having a screen full of skeletons is as messy and fun as it sounds. The best part might be target control. Being able to direct your army onto the enemy you actually want dead changes the pace of fights quite a bit, especially in tighter endgame pulls.

Druid players got one of the cleanest quality-of-life wins in the patch. You're no longer boxed into animal forms just to access parts of the kit. If you want to stay in human form and sling earth or storm skills, you can. Simple as that. It opens up builds that used to feel awkward or half-supported. Then there's the Horadric Cube, which may be the biggest long-term grind change of all. Old gear now has a reason to exist beyond salvage. You can feed unwanted pieces into the system and work toward powerful weapons and armour, and Blizzard even added a junk item specifically to support that loop. On top of that, lower-level endgame drops can still roll Greater Affixes, so mindlessly scrapping everything is a mistake now.

A lot of the smaller combat changes are the sort you notice after a few dungeon runs. Weapon gems now give multiplicative damage bonuses tied to damage types, which is a huge shift from the old, flatter stat boosts. That makes socket choices matter in a more direct way: Amethysts for Shadow, Emeralds for Poison, Sapphires for Cold, Topaz for Lightning, Skulls for Physical, Rubies for Fire and Holy, and Diamonds for a broader all-damage boost. Elite packs also read better. Shielded enemies are easier to identify, so you can break the protection without squinting through the chaos. Reprisal no longer feels cheap either, since the reflected hit comes as a visible projectile you can dodge instead of a near-instant punishment.

Some of the patch notes don't sound flashy, but they'll matter to regular players. The Artificer's Tower got a better reward structure, class bugs were cleaned up, and a few long-standing frustrations finally disappeared. Barbarian damage spikes tied to Bone Breaker were toned down, Sorcerer's Flame Shield now reacts properly to damage-over-time effects, and Necro's Soulrift no longer keeps acting weird after mounting. Even quest progression got attention, which is always welcome. For players keeping up with the new economy, farming routes, or looking at item support services, U4GM is part of that wider conversation because people are watching gear value much more closely in this patch than they were a few weeks ago.
